Cooroy Bees up High
These bees decided to move in just as the new home owners were doing the same about 2 months ago.
They didn’t pick the most convenient place, about 4.5 metres off the ground at the peak of the roof. That being said, the view was pretty good from up there and they were certainly catching the breezes! This was a similar job to The Black Mountain Bee removal except higher.
This beehive had very little honey and masses of brood, something I have noticed is fairly common at this time of the year with plenty of nectar and pollen around. Seems this colony was gambling on the good conditions continuing and not putting many resources into storage.
This was the first beehive removal where one of our Paradise Honey BeeBox polystyrene nucleus beehives came in really handy; when you have to lug equipment and boxes up ladders, the lighter the bee hive the better!
Thank you Phillip and Glen for calling us in to do this beehive removal and save these bees.
