[Maroochydore Brick Veneer Cut-out]

Beehive Removal from Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast

European Honey Bees love brick veneer houses. They usually move in via the weep holes but this little colony moved in through some small gaps in the mortar right next to the front door to this home in Maroochydore.

They had only been there a couple of weeks and being such a small colony had yet to make much of a nest. Given a few more months and this would have been a much bigger job, The queen is laying a nice tight pattern and filling every cell made to her so the population was ready to explode.

One primary way of determining the quality of a laying queen is to examine the pattern of eggs and developing brood in the frames of a colony.

Compared to our last monster ceiling cut-out in Coolum, this one was a bit of a walk in the park.
