Training & Management
Sunshine Coast beekeeping is a rich and rewarding experience. If you are a beginner or just short on time we can provide a hive management programme for one or many hives. Ideally new beekeepers will involve themselves with this programme and use it as a hands-on learning experience.
Onsite Management and Training
This management service is tailored to your needs and circumstances and can cover all aspects of your hive management requirements including regular hive-health inspections checking for pests, disease, queen vigour, swarm reduction management and splitting of hives, re-queening, honey flow management right through to extraction, bottling and labelling of products.
We can also provide hands-on training and management in relation to your Flow™ Hive .
This is an ongoing management service which is charged at $120 for the first hour + $77 for additional hours.
Spring + Summer + Autumn
This sevice will realy get you started with some one-on-one training scheduled for three important times of the year.
Spring is the time to do a brood health check and try to minimise swarming.
Summer should see your hive in full swing and it's time to look at harvesting and adding honey supers.
Autumn is the time to make sure your hive has plenty of stores and determine whether you need to pack down for winter.
Includes up to one hour onsite each visit plus up to 30 minutes each way travel from Maleny.
$297 + Additional time charged at $77/hour
One-off Visit or Emergency Call-out
Whether you just need an extra hand to manage your hive, you are concerned that there might be a problem or your hive has swarmed and you want to catch it, this is the service for you. We will prioitise emergencies as best we can.
Includes up to one hour onsite visit plus up to 30 minutes each way travel from Maleny. $154 + Additional time charged at $88/hour
